Nine years ago, we packed a backpack, hit the road through Latin America, and came home with more than just memories. We came home with inspiration — drawn from the incredible strength, grace, and resilience of the Rarámuri people in Mexico.

What began as a personal journey quickly became a mission:

To create footwear that’s not only beautiful, but also meaningful.

We didn’t have a massive budget or a big team. Just one sandal design, a strong sense of purpose, and a dream: to make slow, conscious fashion accessible — and to use business as a force for good.

Since 2016, Rarámuri has been guided by a simple idea:

Your shoes should take you places — without harming the planet or the people on it.

Our sandals are made for movement, for stories, for lives fully lived. We use sustainable materials like jute, cork, cactus leather, and upcycled fabrics. We partner with ethical workshops in Spain and Mexico, ensuring that every step in our supply chain is built on dignity and fairness.

And because we believe in freedom of expression, we created our signature ribbon system — allowing you to style your sandals endlessly, uniquely, and exactly how you want.

Giving Back: Walking With Purpose

Our name isn’t just a tribute — it’s a responsibility. Inspired by the Rarámuri tribe, known for their legendary endurance and deep harmony with nature, we committed to making an impact beyond fashion.

Together with the Fundación Tarahumara José A. Llaguno, here’s what we’ve accomplished thanks to your support:

• 🌱 21 water dams built, collecting nearly 20 million liters for families in the Sierra Tarahumara
• 🎓 112 indigenous students supported through higher education scholarships
• 🥣 Monthly nutrition programs for 6,000+ children
• 🌳 Over 3,500 trees planted, restoring 44,000 m² of forest and offsetting 746 tonnes of CO₂
• 💛 Free sandals donated during our 5-year anniversary to our namesake community
